through adoptions, transfers, and community cat TNR programs.
INCREASED LIVE RELEASE RATE
With the dedication and help of the Aiken County Animal Shelter staff and FOTAS volunteers, the Shelter has increased the live release rate for animals received at the shelter.
In 2009, the live release rate was 9%; in 2023, the live release rate was 91.57%, and every adoptable animal was saved.
28,000 VOLUNTEER HOURS
FOTAS volunteers donated 28,000 hours of their valuable time to help save more lives!
New initiatives and new committees continue to ‘grow’ the organization and help the animals.
The bulk of our work falls to our army of volunteers who give of their time, resources, skills and ‘heart’ to make the lives of the animals entering the Shelter better and prepare them for a new permanent and loving home.
Our volunteers are the heart of FOTAS and we thank each of you for all you do.
