Transfer Program

FOTAS and the shelter have developed a network of no-kill rescue facilities in other regions of the country. FOTAS organizes and funds the transport of the transfer animals to established out-of-state shelter partners that then get the animals adopted.

The Transfer Program has proven to be an important aspect of our ability to save more animals. From 2009 through 2023, FOTAS and the county arranged for the transfer of 13,265 animals to no-kill rescue facilities in other regions of the country.
