Cheyenne is doing wonderful! I’m not even sure where to start…
She loves her bed and her toys, and I will move her bed closer to me when I’m working at my desk so that she is comfortable. She will also sit in my chair with me when I’m watching TV or working, she loves to snuggle! She sleeps in bed with me at night and stays there until I get up. She loves to cuddle up in blankets too.
She loves riding in the car and going everywhere with me, she knows her harness means she gets to travel and she gets super excited! She likes Home Depot and all the attention she gets, and likes going to Sonic and Dunkin Donuts as well! She will also pick-up groceries with me at Kroger and likes meeting the delivery people. We went down to Florida for a week and she went too. The car ride went well and she was pretty well adjusted after the first night.
She does well on a leash and on her own in the fenced yard. When she is done with her business, she comes right to me to put her leash back on. I’ve also taken her to Boyd Pond and walked the trail there- she loves that and the new smells! And if she needs to go out ahead of when I was gonna take her, she’ll sit by the back door.
She is eating well! I mix her food with pumpkin or chicken sometimes and she loves that! She eats twice a day, 1 cup(ish) in the morning and 2 cups in the evening. Her favorite snacks are the beef jerky and freeze-dried salmon. I’m doing my best to feed her natural, healthy items.
When friends and family come over she loves sitting with them and showing them attention as well. She has never had an accident in the house, and does okay when she’s left alone. She does not like being alone, but has never chewed or destroyed anything. When I get home, she is usually asleep in my chair. To mediate her excitement, I take her outside to use the bathroom first.
When I cook, she lays on the kitchen rug to be near me. And if I’m working outside, she will stand in the door to watch. I want to get a tree-to-tree tie-out so she can be in the shaded front yard while I garden. She also does well in the bath. I bought her a little pool, but she hasn’t seemed too interested in it yet.
She’s met several dogs, some have gone well some haven’t – but nothing concerning because I know ahead of time to be cautious and they don’t hang around for long. She pretty much ignores the stray cat, except for the one time it tried to swat her for no reason. The cat is definitely more interested in being friends than Cheyenne is. The main dog she sees and is good with is my grandma’s puppy, they are so cute together!
We are working on her not begging for food from other people. She’s fine with me, but pizza is her weakness! Also she’s so cute when she hears a new sound, she tilts her head from side-to-side like she’s trying to understand. We’ve had a few thunderstorms and she does not like them, or really any loud/aggressive noises. She also doesn’t really bark, and only whines when she can’t see me. She’s very respectful and gentle with items around the house and isn’t pushy at all. She hasn’t met someone she doesn’t like and loves any attention she can get!
I know I’ve written a lot, but she’s just perfect!
